Pleased to meet you / Aangename kennis

An introduction is never easy, or adequate, especially when you have to do it to yourself.

I’m a woman : a sister, a (has-been-)daughter, and  a wife; I’m a mother and an in-law, and a granny; I’m a friend, and a companion for many...

I’m a daughter of Eve.
She “ became the mother of all the living” (Gen 4:20). I also see myself as a mother of life : enhancing, nurturing, spreading and encouraging life. Especially where a death-experience seems to challenge and threaten and seemingly gets the better of the incorruptible seed of life.
.
Hence my personal life motto : Refuse to give up on what really matters.
It is a decision, and it is an action, and it involves the mind and the will and the physical abilities, and more often than not it has to shun the ever-intruding emotional obstacles. Therefore you don’t stumble upon such a motto and adopt it overnight. You attain it through the demands and tests of life; through failures and measuring and adapting and stretching and succeeding; through discerning and repeating and experiencing the dawn of a conviction; and then deciding on a firm commitment.

Did I mention it? I’m a christian woman. I love my sisters in the faith. Yet I also love women who are not sharing my views. I love to communicate with them, challenge them as they challenge me. I feel their pain; I rejoice with them in their graces.

I meet gladly with them all, either in Afrikaans or English, not equally well though.  Better in Afrikaans, but improving all the while in English. Therefore any post or communication can and will be translated to any group on demand.

I find the journey of womanhood fascinating  –  a never-ending enigma and joy! And an immense privilege.

Having said this, should I still state it explicitly? Yes. Because it is, after all, the most significant detail of my life : I’m not only a believer in the awe-provoking power of the cross and resurrection of the Savior.

I’m in love with Christ.
